I'm going to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico this summer for a week, what fun things are there to do?

What fun things and must see attractions are in there area? Any good advice or tips also? Money saving ideas or resaurants? thanks.

Tulum is absolutely beautiful; Mayan ruins which overlook the ocean.  If you go, bring a swimsuit as the beach is wonderful.  

You could also take the ferry over to visit Cozumel.  There's a town with lots of shopping and some really nice beaches on the opposite side of the island.  

Definitely go snorkeling, or even better go scuba diving.  If you're not certified, get certified before you go.  I was there in December and loved it...  so we're going back in August for some more diving.

We have always stayed at all inclusives, so I don't know anything about the restaurants.  But definitely barter for anything you want to buy.  Try walking away, and most of the time the asking price will drop dramatically.

But most importantly...  Have fun and relax!

so many things 2 do, theres alot of beautiful beaches, eco parks, archeological sites, cenotes, night life, water sports...ur not gonna have enough time.

There is swimming, snorkeling, banana boat rides, parasailing, sunbathing, tours to Xcaret (great, especially the underground river), Xel-Ha, plenty of shopping and dining.

These is also a hydrofoil to Cozumel.

Chichen Itza is considered to be the most important ancient city of the Mayan Culture and has the most amazing examples of architecture in Mayan society.  The largest and most impressive of the Cancun Mayan ruins of the Yucatan, Chichen Itza is a spectacular and mystical place to visit.  If you only want to do one tour this vacation, this should be it.  There is only one Chichen Itza.

Xcaret (pronounced ish-ka-ret) is perhaps the top attraction in all of Cancun.  With seemingly endless attractions, you'll need at least a full day in Xcaret to see the park.  Xcaret is an Ecological  park.

Xel-Ha is the world's most spectacular natural aquarium, a nature lover's paradise. Embark on an aquatic adventure - explore creeks, lagoons, natural wells and ancient caves fed by subterranean rivers flowing to Mexico's beautiful Caribbean Sea. The Xel-Ha River Float is something you won’t want to miss. The Park is located south of Cancun in the Riviera Maya that contains small Mayan Ruins as well as a wide variety of flora and fauna, including Jaguars, Dolphins, and more.
