Question

... how much $ cash should I bring with me?

I know there's a difference in currency (about DR$33 - US$1) but I rather be safe than sorry.

i go there every year with my family & we stay @ the Colonial Majestic Resort!

Hi !,

Depending your lifestyle I would say between 400 and 700 us.

If your planning to stay (jailed) in the hotel then no problem, if you want to discover this beautiful country (the place of the beginning of the new world) you will spend some dollars on excursions like Isla Saona, Alto de Chavon, Cuevas de las Maravillas, and so many things more...

Anyway enjoy it !

Be sure to have $1 bills for tipping for ppl at the hotels, ppl who carry ur luggage, etc.!! Also be sure to have $10 on u when entering the airport...soon as u step off the plane and get into the airport u hafta buy a "tourist" card to get into the country..which u basically pay for..they take it/scan it/then u keep walking. Be sure to kno the currency rate so u don't get 'screwed' out of ur money :)..always smart to kno! If u plan on using ur debit card ..make sure to tell the bank ur leaving the country so they won't block it
