  1. Now it's very very cold!!!

  2. It's Spring, so the weather is changeable...it was pouring during Easter Mass today!  So, as a veteran of a couple of trips to Rome (which I LOVE), let me recommend that you travel light.  Jeans, t shirts, khaki pants/shorts, a windbreaker, VERY comfortable walking shoes.  If it rains, buy a 5 Euro umbrella from a street vendor, it's not worth using your suitcase space.  Won't be cold enough for a heavy coat, your windbreaker and maybe a sweatshirt for layering.

Remember, many places require a dress code...you cannot enter the Vatican with bare knees or shoulders, for males or females and they are not kidding.  You'll be turned away.  So no shorts or tank tops there or any church or cathedral.

Be sure to bring your digital camera, an extra memory card and extra batteries.  A small pair of binoculars turned out to be very useful!  Some of the decorated ceilings, etc. were much more interesting that way.

Don't overpack...it's a civilized city, if you run out of socks or underwear or need cold medicine, you can get it anywhere.

DO NOT MISS the Capuchin Crypt, beneath the Church of Santa Maria de Concezione near the Piazza Barberini on the Via Veneto.  Only takes a little while, but the WOW factor!

Have a great time...throw a coin over your right shoulder into Trevi Fountain (see it at night!) and you will return to Rome.  I did.  And will again!

  3. condoms

  4. Bring a water bottle/canteen, there are many water fountains dotted all over the city, THE WATER IS CLEAN, don't listen to others complain about dirty water.

Watch out for scam artists with friendship bracelets around the Spanish Steps, they hook you in, and tell you a story, then next thing you know, they have tied a bracelet and make you pay to take it off. Watch out!!

    BRING A CAMERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spring- i'm not sure on weather (I went in the summer) so bring a rain jacket, but nothing too heavy, because it might start to warm up.

Bring Music!!!! you will get bored on the plane very fast!

    Hope this helps!!

  5. Italy is warm and dry mediterranian weather so bring a hat sunscreen and books for the trip and music that fits the catagory.

Summer should be killer as well as spring. Beautiful country though all for farms and cities. Have fun!
