I'll be 60km north of Bratislava for a week and I'm packing now. I imagine there's no way I'll need to bring shoes, right? Thanks :)

  1. I assume you plan to travel soon, my answer is based on that.

If you plan on hiking in nature, or the mountains or hills, you better bring your mountain boots.

But if your trip is city type entertainment, sandals will do.

I have been in Slovakia, in the mountains and in an open air museum, and did walk it on my sandals, even on flip-flops for a part of the time.

My sandals are good walking sandals that support my feet well.

Consider your sandals and your plans.

You are unlikely to meet snow unless you go to the high mountains, which are much farther from Bratislava. But if you go for a hike in the nature you can meet rough footing and boggy conditions in some places.

In winter you will meet snow most of the time, if you are willing to stand in snow in sandals, why not, I know people who will travel in sandals round the year, but most people will want shoes when traveling between October and March.

  2. take em anyhow in case ya need em

  3. I would posit that 60 k north of Bratislava you are likely to encounter terrain not necessarily conducive to sandals.

A pair of shoes wouldn't hurt.
