It looks that is going to be very crowded because of the summer, any tips to get into the train.

  1. For some journeys, it might be advisable.  (even essential, but usually it isn't)

When you arrive in one place, you can always make enquiries in the station, and make a booking then, if neccessary.

  2. That is one thing that I didn't like about Spain.  You really can't just pick up and decide to leave and be off to another town that day.  Unfortunately you really need to make yourself an itinerary and book ahead.  Preferably when you get to your destenation.  If you are traveling overnight try and reserve a couchette.  And bring your own snacks when you can because the train selection is limited and over priced.  You can even bring some beers or a bottle of wine if you like.  Have a good trip.

  3. Look here:  http://www.renfe.es

You need to do reservations in several trains, most if is in summer.

  4. you definitely need reservations.  Try the Khyber in Barcelona if you go there... great hostel!  Train reservations will depend, but if you go between countries, you will DEFINITELY need a reservation, but within the country shouldn't be too bad (your pass is golden).  So, basically make accommodation reservations, but the train should be ok within spain... if you plan to go outside that with your pass, get a reservation as well.  Hope that helps, and enjoy Spain!!!!
