Yeah so i'm driving up to a really hot place and this is why i'm scared.

1. I hate driving long distances because i get sick but whatever i just have to deal with that. it's a 2 hour ride. BUT I NEED SOME IDEAS ABOUT WHAT TO DO IN THE CAR!? like a lot of good ideas!!

PLEASE!

2. And also i'm going to a place and it's going to be over 100 degrees

! i've never ever played in that heat and it's hard for me to even walk in that heat

so what can i do to help me get through it? really though i don't do well in heat. i don't want to throw up or pass out

it's my number 1 fear to throw up ahah and i don't know why even though i've thrown up before...

So yeah

and also i take Dramamine when i drive and i'm taking it friday in the day and i'm taking 2 pills and i'm playing saturday at 8am

my mom said it's a dehydrater

is that true? if so how can i re hydrate myself so i won't be dehydrated for the game?!

helppppp=]

  1. wow, you sound JUST LIKE me. this is the exact same position i was in a few months ago with a tournament. i totally know where you're coming from when you say you get sick on long car rides, and i totally know where you're coming from with the fear of throwing up!!! everyone thinks im crazy when i tell them its my biggest fear haha. anywho, what i did for the ride up there was just bring an ipod and try to relax and maybe sleep part of the way up there. if you can't sleep in the car, then bring a book or magazine, or puzzles and word games. or just text or talk to a friend part of the way there. and the best thing i can tell you about the dehydration and heat, is to DRINK WATER!!! saturday when you get up in the morning, have a big glass of water, then continue to drink it through the game and have some after as well. sometimes when it's really hot out for games, we bring a bunch of cool washclothes in a cooler so we can cool of with them during breaks, you might want to do that as well. don't forget to eat, too! haha when i go on trips i hardly eat because i'm so nervous i'll get sick, but if you don't eat it will just make the chances of throwing up/passing out greater. just think that this time next week, it will all be over and you won't have to worry about it at all :) just don't worry about it and enjoy yourself !! (i know, easier said than done =P)

  2. Whoa!  I don't even know where to start with all that.  Maybe you should have posted each question separately.  Let me give it a try, though:

    1)  Check out an audiobook from the library and listen to it on the way up.  That way it will get your mind off the game and let you relax for a bit.  Try to pick something with a bit of action to stimulate your adrenal glands a bit.

    2) Drink lots of fluids beginning at least three hours before the game to start  getting hydrated.  Make sure you slow down to more of a maintenance level when you get closer to game time so you don't have water sloshing around in your stomach but continue to get plenty of fluids even during the game.  Wear sun tan lotion.  Have cool water on the sidelines that you can soak a towel in to put over your head while your on the side to help cool you off.

  3. well for the car ride i would just listen to the radio or something to get your mind off of feeling sick (but still pay attention to driving).  for being dehydrated i would drink lots of water and vitamin water (dont drink gatorade, i found out that it actually makes things worse).  about the heat, it just takes some getting used too. i live in the south and i was used to living in the north with the snow. u just need to get used to the heat, u should sit outside for a couple hours every day. dont like run around or anything, just be out there (u will slowly adapt to the heat). hope this helps =]

  4. DRINK TONS OF WATER, LISTEN TO MUSIC AND PICTURE THEM IN  THEIR KNICKERS!!

  5. in the car u should look at the window. it helps me when i get car sick dont read or any thing like that it just makes u feel more sick.

    for the soccer game bring a cooler so your water can stay cool freeze your water the night before the game and also put your jersy in the freezer so it will be very cold at the game  bring a towel in your cooler to the game so when you r out of the game you can put it on your face to stay cool. good luck at your soccer touraments!!!
