I'm going to an italian restaurant and because I am watching my weight, I was wondering if any of you had suggestions of what to order?

In Italian cuisine, this typically consists of savory cold foods such as cheeses and raw or marinated vegetables, as well as cold cuts and cured meats such as prosciutto. It will be mostly salad type items and you can pick. Tell your waiter you are having it as your main course.

  3. Water, tablespoon of pepper and a sugar packet would be the best thing to eat.

    Italian = carbs.

    Look for something that involves vegetables, olive oil, grilled fish, etc.

  5. Dont order pasta. Choose light stuff like Salads. Italian Salads are usually very good. Or if you want any kind of fish without toppings of any kind. Just a word of advise - Try NOT to mix proteins with pastas (which usually italians usually do) because that is what really gains you weight. Hope that helps. Bon Appét*t!

  6. have a pasta dish, one that is just tomato based, and not the creamy ones if you like spicy food have a penne piccanti it is gorgeous and low in fat and calories. If you are going to have a starter ask for a green salad with no oil.As for dessert.. well....no comment!! LoL

  7. UR SCREWED PASTA AND BREAD ARE LOTS OF CARBS... SO THE ONLY YOU CAN DO FROM THERE IS STAY AWAY FROM A LOT OF IS JUS EAT SMALLER PORTIONS OF EVERYTHING... AND ENJOY I LOVE PASTA...

  8. Anything, enjoy yourself. One night off will do you good.

  9. Enjoy your evening and have whatever you like just don't overindulge.  You can diet tomorrow & maybe the next day.  Not a great thing if your companions are uncomfortable with their choices if they know you are dieting.

    Pasta with oil and garlic

    Minnestrone soup

    grilled chicken with balsamic

    or eat what you want and have a salad tomorrow!!!!!

  11. Pasta...never mind that has a ton of calories...um how about bread stick and ummm....nope not that either...ITALIAN food is full of carbs...you can always have a SALAD oh but wait don't order it with ranch...that has calories!!
