  1. Venice is wonderful but you can't miss to visit Padova, a city near it, wher you can found "Prato della Valle" which is the largest square in Europe!

    Ciao! :-)

  2. I Love Venice, they have awesome, awesome historical places... Make sure you visit St. Marks Square, and Ride a Gondola.. There is a venitan glass blowing place, I think it is called Murrano...  That was a lot of fun,. i visited Venice last year, Man it was beautiful.. Have a great time in Venice! Be careful there are some people that will rip you off, so watch out out for thiefs etc..... Ciao

  3. the dumos palace, the murano glass factory, hotel cipriani, san marcos square,

  4. 7 days are too many for visiting just Venice. 4 are well enough.

Don't hire the car for Venice: NO CARS in Venice! no bicycle! you can go just by foot!

If you hire a car, you can use it to travel around. I'd suggest Verona and Garda Lake.

    Have a good time!

  5. That's great that you're going to Venice!  I just got back from backpacking through Italy last week.  Definitely don't bother hiring a car; the city contains over 150 bodies of land connected by bridges and many streets with no names.  Even with a map you'll be sure to get lost.  However, that is the best part about Venice.  No matter where you are, whether it's around the famed landmarks or not, it's beautiful.  Besides just walking around soaking it all in, you'll want to make sure you take a ride on the gondala.  They'll be pretty pricey (plan on spending around 70 euros) but not as bad if you do them in the morning.  While you're there, you should also do a little shopping for the famous Venician masks for which the city is so famous.  They're handmade and simply gorgeous-- a great souvenir even if you aren't going to be wearing them there for Carnival.  Also be sure to see a glass-blowing demonstration.  You can take a ferry to see them and it's amazing! The bus system is quite efficient, so just head to the Piazza Roma and hop on one to take you to any other touristy place you'd like to go.  Have fun!

  6. You can see and do everything in Venice in 2 days...get a travel book and just do it all.
