I'm going to be playing a blind person...?

Question

My teenage character is blinded in a car accident. If you yourself or someone you know has any real life experience with this, please help me out. I need to know the emotions connected with this kind of thing, mannerisms, the tricks and techniques like for using and finding things and getting around, any changes in vocabulary, and anything else that is relevant or helpful. My cousin is blind, and truthfully, I wouldn't know if my parents didn't tell me.

There are little things like how you hold your finger in a glass when your pouring a drink to know when it's full.

But she looks straight into your eyes when she talks to you, she doesn't look off in the wrong direction or anything.

Oh, and she can stay up all night long reading her books with the lights off since their braille. :)
