I'm going to become a freshman...but?

Question

I can't swim. How is my high school going to take this? Is my P.E grade down the drain?

Is there a way to avoid the humiliation, degrading, and embarrassment?

you're a freshman you are degrading and everything you do is humiliating and embarrassing, sorry those are the rules of high school but go take swimming lessons at the y or something or ask the gym teacher if you could stay after school and he/she could teach you how to swim and if you have to swim before you get a chance to ask your gym teacher ask them if you could take that class off and tell them the truth that you can't swim and that you would like to stay after school if possible

in my private school we didn't do al those thigs. our teacher is pretty lax so he just lets us run around and do whatever we want (except for those stupid obstical courses!)

we only get graded on if we wear our proper uniform even though i'd love to do some physical stuff
