I'm going to buy a camcorder but is it easy to transfer DVs to DVDs?

The make I was thinking of getting was Samsung VP-D371W Mini DV Camcorder from Argos.

  1. TallPaul is right.  You can, as he says, use Windows Moviemaker.  If you want to spend a bit on more sophisticated software you could look at Pinnacle Studio, Cyberlink PowerDirector or Serif Movieplus.  There are loads of them out there.

    You do not have to spend £3000!


  2. If you have the right machine my dad purchased a machine a while back for about 3 grand and its about 1 now where it has an internal hard drive and you can copy straight from dv 2 dvd it actually has a port for the dv so i would highly recommend it, its a JVC if you want the model just ask.

  3. yes i do it all the time,however you need other equipment.

  4. You'll need a Firewire card for your PC. Once you have that, it is *very* easy. Assuming you have XP then you can use Windows Movie Maker.
