  1. Oh yes for sure. Every resort offers day trips and one of them is to Havana. From there it'll be a plane ride that is about an hour and it'll be either a day trip or an overnighter (two day). If you can do that, take advantage of it.

There will be trips into Trinidad and where there are cobblestone streets, colonial mansions, and shopping for crafts and the work of local artisans. It'll be a the real taste of Cuba being with the locals. Also the nearby Playa Ancon, known for warm clear turquoise waters and affordable scuba diving!

There is so much more you'll get to enjoy. The tour rep will explain all of the tours at the orientation meeting the day after you arrive.

The costs for trips can range from about $50 to $180-200 (that would be for the Havana trip, most expensive).

Here's more info to give an idea for prices and places:

Havana Overnight: See the best of Havana including the Plaza de la Revolucion, Old Havana and more. Includes free time and meals. Approx. CUC$159 per adult.

Key Seafari: Swim at leisure on this lazy, relaxing catamaran cruise, sailing along the coast with great snorkelling stops. Approx. CUC$72 per adult.

Trinidad Colonial: Tour One of the oldest and most beautiful towns in Cuba. Includes lunch. Approx. CUC$69 per adult.

  2. I stayed there in August and let me tell you it was breathtaking.

In regard to day trips, I personally didnt go on any. Since its an island and nobody actually lives on the island... I dont remember many people going on trips.

I suppose there was trips into a city on the mainland. Once again to be honest I didnt see anyone going.

    I'd definetly ask someone though:)
