  2. whatever made you book a holiday to somewhere you dont know anything about?

  3. Have you tried googling it?

But dont just put the place put "more info on ....." etc

  4. ask your travel agent if they can't get it ask for your accommodation name and write or phone them for a brochure

  5. Havent been for about five years but used to go there all the time before that.

Its is one of the quieter canary islands and is less developed than Tenerife, but that was changing.

There are three main resorts. Corralejo in the north is the busiest and the most English, and is centered on a fishing village and rocky bay. Calleta De Fuste is by the airport and is pretty much purpose built but has no atmosphere, and in the far south there are the German resorts.

Corralejo has some really nice fish restaurants around the harbour and along the beaches around the bay. Its also not bad for shopping but beware of the electrical goods (cameras etc) shops as they rip you off and are famous for it. You will think you have scored a great deal but then find that you have not bought what you think you have.

Just south of Corralejo are the sand dunes of the national park, which are stunning. There are three really nice beaches here which are good for windsurfing and occasionally surfing. Nude sunbathing is normal on these beaches (and on many other beaches around the island).

Your hotel, the Bristol Playa is on the North West end of town, and used to be one of the most popular hotels, although we popped in for a look once and it seemed a little tired. It also went all inclusive at one stage.

If you head out west from Corralejo there is a dirt road which follows the north shore all the way around to another little resort which the name of has slipped my mind. It is along this track that you will find the best surfing breaks with quality reef and point breaks for ten miles. Beware however as this track is car destroying and some hire companies will not isure you to drive it.

Lanzarote is a short ferry ride from Corralejo as is the island of Los Lobos which again has world quality surfing.

    Enjoy!!

  6. You will love Corralejo - I went last year with my partner and 9 year old daughter - it was a beautiful place. We stayed at the hotel Papaguyo which was fab for entertaining kids, there is a great mix between things to do for adults and children, we found that to hire a car is great because there is quite a lot to explore on the island - book ahead though because while we were there it was really difficult to hire a car...  Try and get to the harbour where you can take a glass bottom boat trip - this was brilliant! There are also lots of really lovely restaurants in the harbour, and in the evenings everyone sits outside and there are musicians and entertainers - great fun!!  I wish I could go back!  I really hope you enjoy it there.
