I'm going to knit a pair of gloves but i don't understand how to measure to know what size to knit?

it says "to fit round hand" then. i don't understand how you measure your hand, any advice?

put a tape measure round your hand, at the widest bit, probably at the knuckles.

It's asking for you to measure the circumference of your hand (mine is 7.5").
