  1. B-E-A-UTIFUL.

He's put together well enough. I agree with Shannonx though, without interacting with him we cant tell much about attitude and rideability. Pretty coloring though. (thats not the best reason to buy a horse though.... lol) :)

Good luck with him!! You should update us on how he did after you look at him!!!

  2. He is lovely looking i must admit! And he looks like he could do alot and would go far, nice age, beautiful colours and he looks like he is ncie and calm. I would say $2000 - $3000 for him seeing as he has lots of good qualities that i can tell in the pictures! ! !  You Would Be Lucky If You got Him! ! !

$450...Thats a good price to buy him! ! ! And he looks like he could go far so for $450 thats a very very good buy! ! !

  3. I think he is a beautiful horse. I love his colors. And he looks taller then he is. Which i think is a good thing. I think he is a lovely horse!

  4. that looks like a wonderful and beautiful horse!

  5. Well, I would say he should be in the $1500 ish range.

You didn't mention if he was registered or grade.

He is rather plain looking with that big hammer head.

I don't care for his croup and he looks like he could use a good worming.

Additionally, he has contracted heels, looks like he is short shod and I prefer better pastern angles in front.

I know that's probably not what you want to hear, but that is my input. What do they want for him?

  6. Mdoolittle,

He's nicely put together but in that first pic, that left front hoof has me wondering, has he been foundered?  If so, how much rotation to the coffin bone, 'cause it looks like there's quite a dip in the front of that hoof from that picture and the 2nd one didn't really show more to make me think anything different.

It might not be a waste of time to have a vet check him FIRST before you put any money down on him.

    Later:

The "dipped" hooves shows a sign of severe neglect at one point (Founder) and/or lack of trimming by previous owner and REALLY let go!  That's why I pointed it out.  You may have some soundness issues if you don't now, then later on.

  7. well he is a pretty boy with a strong head and high withers and alert (has one ear on the dogs) cant see the eye really good but they look soft, otherwise he has a slight hollow quarter that will fill out (almost reminds me of a clyde) but nice and rideable.looks like a good horse so i would say $1500.00

  8. looks great can i plz have 10 points first to respond plzzzzzzz

  9. Omg he's gorgeous! You are way too lucky!

  10. I don't like his roman nose but his conformation is good.  He needs more definition.  Is his right rear leg toed out or is that the way he is standing (I think it is how he is standing so gave his conformation as good to very good)

I do like a little more bone in the legs of my trail horses but that is because of the ruggedness of the trails here.  Of course as I get older I ride fewer and fewer of THOSE trails (LOL).

color is also a bonus here

All in all I give this boy good marks

His front feet need to have their toes shortened again (they're due) but since this is a racking horse his feet are fine.  However when you get a farrier make sure that he knows how to trim for a gaited horse.

The angles would be wrong for a quarter but this is not a quarter horse so gets shod and trimmed slightly differently.

The goose rump or hunter's rump as it is sometimes called is not actually a flaw.  However it does not have the appeal of the more rounded rump.  Despite that many top show horses have it.  It tends to be a common characteristic of TWH'S and a few other breeds.

  11. I'm not jumping up and down with excitement with this guy...sorry. :-(

His back end to me looks very weak and that protrusion on his croup. He lacks any muscle tone. I don't think this picture is very appealing either..he is very rough looking, not trimmed let alone clean and groomed, which I know is "only" a visual aspect...but to me is a turn-off. He doesn't match the beautiful environment around him!! Perhaps you've seen him all spiffed up.  His front hooves are either too long but have a dish to them .

You didn't mention if you rode him...but unless he was a great ride and vetted out good, I might continue my search.

So, that is my input...good luck with your visit tomorrow.  Be open minded..there are plenty of other prospects if he doesn't work out for you.  Are you looking specifically for a TWH or Racking horse..for show, trail?  Also, price wise, I would say between $800-$1500.

    ---add

I wanted to refrain from saying the "F" or "L" word in looking at his front hooves--but that was my 1st impression..maybe I didn't trust myself enough to be the first to say it, but now that it has been mentioned I will my term of "dish" to be more specific.

  12. He looks a little long in the back and has a goose rump. The hoof/pastern angle is wrong on all 4 feet - don't know if a good farrier could improve on that but I'd say the back ones are worst - going to put a lot of strain in the wrong places. His neck is not well set and he has a rather heavy and plain head.

    Harsh but you did ask.

What's his character like - good enough to make up for it ?

  13. personaly i would not buy the horse until i find out...

    if its.....

    1.healthy

    2.able to be ridin

    3. vet checked

    4.utd on everything

    5. spooky

    6.etc.

  14. The first thing I would ask the owners is why he looks so unkept and if you will, neglected in his hoof care and grooming. His hooves are very suspecious, the front ones are very long in the toe and his back ones are just, wrong but I cant put my finger on why.

I find it very funny that they have him in such a nice facility but he looks to be in horrible condition and unhappy.

Hes not going to win any halter classes with that big head and small rear, but he looks like a good strong horse, I like him. And hes very nice to look at, but dont let his colour distract you from his conformation and over all health.

Depending on what you want him for will depend on how much conformation will matter to you, hes very heavy in the front end, and light in the back end, but maybe with a bit of muscle he will develop a big butt.

I might make an offer of $1500 - $2000 depending on his age and health, but only beacuse of these pictures, he looks very uncomfortable and unhappy in both pictures, almost like hes having trouble standing or is in pain.

If they are asking a lot of money for this horse, I would ask ALOT of questions as to why they would take sale pictures of him looking so sad and unkept, makes me very suspecious, and absolutley get a vet check on him.

If his health checks out and the price is right, then absolutley go for it, hes a nice looking boy!

    EDIT:

For $450 he is a GREAT buy, I would definatly still have a good look at him and ask alot of questions. Check that hes sound and does what she says he does, but $450 isnt really alot of money, so I say go for it!

    EDIT:

His hooves dont look too bad, just long, with a good farrier he might be able to help trim his hooves up properly over time. If he doesnt show any signs of lameness when you go to see him and he still has the dip in his hooves I wouldnt be too concerned about it, ask your farrier anyway.

If you get pictures of him all cleaned up I would love to see them!

  15. think he's a good looking horse.  how does he ride?

  16. He seems well put together. I can't really say much about personality or rideabiltiy just because they pictures can only show so much. Because he is a racking horse, I assume he's on the calmer side. I would say it would be around $2500.

  17. Looks very cute! But probably wouldnt get him. Too tall for me!

  18. he looks week in his rump his hoof look bad sorry but i am telling you the truth
