My mother doesn't want me to do it but my father wants me to do whatever I want at school but he works like every school day right after my mother comes home from work. How do I convince my mom to let me do after school activities?

  1. Tell your mother that not only will after school activities look good on college and job applications, but they'll also stop you from being bored after school and going out and doing stupid stuff. It'll also help your social life and you'll have more friends, which is always healthy.

  2. tell her that by doing after school activities, that gives you something to do instead of sitting in front of the computer and TV all of the time

  3. What sort of after school stuff?

As has already been mentioned - many after school activities are good for your resume when getting into college.

As long as what you want to do falls into those categories it should be easy to sell.

I have kids (much younger than you) and I would be horrified if they didn't want to do after school activities

  4. Tell her that after school stuff is good for when you go to high school, and then tell her how you will make alot of friends if you join something for after school. You could also learn alot of stuff and still have fun.

  5. Tell her that by doing an after school activity that you'll be more apt to do them in high school. And FYI you HAVE to do them in high school or colleges won't accept you. Also you won't be complaining about how "bored" you are. And you'll make friends!
