  1. £200, but you can never take enough

  2. Paris has got very expensive but its like anywhere - it can be as expensive as you make it. if you want to eat out in nice restaurants and buy clothes then bring a lot of euros but if you are happy to travel by metro, eat delivious baguettes and sighsee I reckon you could get by on 100-150 euros in 2 days.

    have a great time!

  3. Everyone's telling you to bring loads!  I took the equivalent of £500 once when I went for a week and I brought back change.  On the other hand, I didn't do much shopping, I just visited the tourist attractions and visited whatever looked particularly french.

If you do expect to need a large wad of cash, take some security precautions and be aware of pick pockets.

  4. loads, as it is very expensive there, my brother went for a weekend once and it cost him about a fiver for a coffee. enjoy your trip though.

  5. Don't carry a lot of money, use an ATM.  If you must carry money, bring twice as much as you think you'll need.  I was there last year and was amazed at how expensive everything was, even in local pubs and shops.  You can also use a credit card.  Foreigners are exempt from the vat, and a credit card will give you an exact record of what you spent.  Bonne chance!

  6. I went for a Week recently and was ok with £200 spending money. That did not include hotel or flight costs - obviously... ate out a few times, went on a tour bus, travelled lots (used the metro) it costs like E10.90 for ten tickets and u can use each ticket for like one hour. Basically, just keep inserting the same ticket in each station till it rejects it then use another one. Tickets can be preserved for 6 months (ie, you dont have to use it the day you buy it)

Found it better to buy breakfast/lunch in a supermarket then eat out at night. Alternatively, buy late breafast in a patisserie (there are PLENTY to choose from) and eat out at night.

It may be a bit expensive if u go up the eiffel tower. I chose to go up the arc de triumph as u can see paris' main attraction - eiffel tower and take pics of it. Plus i loved the perfectly symettrical roads! Costs about 8Euros - cheaper for students.

  7. I am living in Paris right now (originally from Indiana) and everything seems expensive to me. However, it really depends on what you want to do. If you want to go to some museums and eat out, I guess I would suggest about 150 pounds (english). It really depends where you eat (and etc.) Some restaurants are really expensive, others aren't. You need to check around. Museums aren't too expensive. I've found most to charge around 10-15 euros. Also, the first Sunday of every month you can get free admission to the museums.

    Bonne chance!

  8. as much as you can, that's my philosophy as you can fetch back what you don't spend? better to have too much than run out, bearing in mind,it is very expensive?
