  1. dude, black is rough.  During hte US open there were pros who couldn't hit one of the fairways.  There are other courses.

Bring your A game and lots of patients.

  2. buy extra balls

  3. be patient... youre probably not going to play good so dont get upset and remember the experience, not what you shot

  4. Bring extra balls, that course kicked my tuckus right after the '02 US Open.

  5. Bring extra balls. Don't expect to break 90 if you're a 10 handicap. Play from the whites.

  6. Leave early. Traffic can be rediculous.

  7. The best advice i can give is the same as what I take in when I play ridiculously hard courses:

ENJOY YOURSELF!  It is not everyday that you get to play a course that the pro's play for one of the majors.  I got to play Torrey Pines about a week ago, and they are growing that rough out ridiculous long.  If you are not strong enough to hack it out, it sucks.  Bring extra balls and extra patience, but overall just enjoy yourself and the beauty of the course.  Golf is supossed to be fun and enjoyable right...

  8. Play one of the other courses.  There are 4 others I believe.  There is a sign on the course that says:  "The Black Course is an extremely difficult course which we recommend only for  highly skilled golfers."
