I'm going to redo my room?

I have a black blanket for my bed and shelves so i want a scheme that goes good with black. (i know thats anything) which makes it ten times harder to choose. I either want a tiffany blue or purple. But i just don't know where to start or what to do. Please help?

I also have a black quilt and the walls are lilacgrey. All the accessories are black (sheer curtains, black and white photos in black frames, black vases-some with purple and lilac flowers-on grey shelves, and black lamps on the nightstand and the floor. I love it!

Since you have your bedspread and pretty much know your scheme, go out and try to find a good piece of art. Find a piece that has your color scheme in it, this can help you find a style that you'd like to repeat through the room. (A good colored iris portrait would go well in your scheme.) Then you can use it to match: wall colors, accent pillows, curtains and general decorations.
