I'm going to reformat my desktop, i got 2 hardrive do i still have to put program files to my other hardrive?

  1. No.  The other hard drive can be strictly data.  

    You may wish to do it if you are going to install applications to run from the second hard drive.  But you don't have to copy the Program Files from drive 1 to drive 2.  You can just create a new "Program Files" folder on your second hard drive, and direct installation programs to install there.

    Just keep in mind that neatness counts.  Most programs don't mind being installed anywhere with any folder names, but there are some programs that do care whether or not they are in their "expected" default directory.  Also if you use any kind of "hard drive cleaner" software to save space, then expect to have registry problems if you also have applications on drive 2.
