  1. Hello,

It depends on when in February you go.  I was there last Feb. towards the end of the month.  It was unseasonably warm with temps in the high 60's and low 70's.  We didn't get any rain just bright, sunny, warm days.  This would've been great if I hadn't packed sweaters and thermals!  You can check out wunderground.com for the weather trends and also weather.com to keep track of what the weather is doing on a daily basis.  The crowds were very light and we didn't have much of a wait at the colosseum or the vatican.

Just pack clothes you can wear in layers.  Start with a T-shirt, then a sweater, then a jacket.  Maybe take a coat just in case.  This way if it is cool in the morning and evenings you can just put on a sweater or jacket and still have a short sleeved shirt for during the day if it is warm.   If it doesn't get warm then those clothes will help with the layering to keep you warm.

All in all,  Rome is wonderful in February.  Have a great time.

  2. It's winter. What do you expect?

  3. Dress warm, learn the bus routs, drink your coffee on the go or standing at the  bar,  Use the ATM for best exchange rate,  Withdraw  only 1-200 at a time too avoid loosing too much if pick pocketed, say "graci" for thank you and m'ecusa for excuse me.

PS it's never too cold for Gelato.

  4. Actually there most likely won't be any snow. Just rainy conditions with some occasionally nice sunny days. Expect temperatures around 16 degrees C(60 degrees F)

  5. I went to Rome last May, for 4 days.  It rained most of the time :(

But I'm not going to go on about the weather! It is a wonderful city, even in the rain! obviously the Vatican is a must, there are freelance tourguides all over who charge alot, but you definately get a load more info!  The coloseum is a bit of  a rip off in my opinion (it's more impressive from the outside!)  But the Trevi Fountain is free and stunning!!

Oooh, also, they sell pizza from carts on the street, YUM!!! (best pizza ever!) and the drinks carts try to charge 5 euros for a bottle of water!!  But you can haggle, they don't mind ;)

  6. sorry my english is not good! I live in Rome; in my opinion february is not a best season to visit Roma; to Roma often a good climate, but it to happen that there are temporal(rain) that they last many days;in the summer the almost void risk.

February is cold; May is a best season in my opinion; summer is very hot, the advantage that the città is free, beccause many Romans go on vacation, so the traffic decreases; these are indications, but the things can often go otherwise; example storms summer, and beautiful time in winter, however Roma is wonderfull always, and to visit this city is a beautiful experience in all the seasons. A kiss for you my  friend! good luck!
