Do you think the people who pick me up will be expecting a tip.

Cause I'm doing this to save money on gas in the first place.

  1. I doubt they'll be expecting a tip, but I also doubt very many people will pick you up. Not only is hitch-hiking illegal, but it can also be very dangerous as you never really know who you are getting in the car with.

Instead of hitch-hiking with strangers to save gas, try carpooling with friends, biking, walking, and taking public transportation if it's available. All of these are legal, pretty safe, and most all of them won't expect a tip in return. ;)

  2. Not scared?

    You should be,

    you should be....

The 1950's and 1960's are over.

Hitchhiking is an extremely bad idea these days.

In many area's this practice is either illegal in itself,

or they will pick you up under vagrancy laws.

Besides this is the era of the remorseless killer.

You know all those people on the "missing" posters?

Chances are more than a few of them hitched a ride to oblivion.

Most respectable people are too scared to pick up hitchhikers.

That leaves you with the few really stupid ones who don't know any better, and the potentially dangerous ones, who will be the ones willing to give you a ride. Every ride you accept from a stranger may be your last.

    Take the bus.

It ain't glamorous, but it's cheap.

And chances are you'll make it where your headed alive.

  3. you should be careful

  4. You know it's illegal, right? Not to mention incredibly dangerous.

  5. Be sure to watch the movie "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" to learn the hitch hiking rules of the road from George Carlin.

  6. there are a lot of unacounted bodies out there,u want to be one, there are way toooo many crazies loose,
