I'm planning to stay in hollywood, not far from the chinese theater, I want to go to Santa Monica, I want to see China town, and do some kind of studio tour - which one is the best? What kind of transportation is suitable? I'm not driving...please give me some advice (I'm traveling alone)

  1. Well, Universal Studios Hollywood is always a great place to go for foreigners or out-of-towners.  They have a tour inside the amusement park and you can see sets of a lot of famous movies and current tv shows.  You can't walk through the tour though; it's done on one of those little rail transportation systems, but it's still pretty neat. As far as I know, the tour does not cost any extra.

It has a lot of cool stuff about Southern California and Hollywood that we often take for granted, and for visitors, it's a great place to go for entertainment.

As far as transportation, I do not know. As already known, we are driving culture. I am sure you can find  a way to get by on public transportation, but you'll have to do quite some research and planning.
