I'm going to be renting boots and snowboard but everything else obviously is my own responsibility to bring. What do I get?

  1. i have two answers

    first

    DONT GO TO *****

people dont understand that when snowboarders and skaters go to ***** they hurt the local shops

    unless you live in like

CT or somewhere where there arnt snowboard and skate shops

    you can

anywhere where there is a local shop go to it

check out the DONT DO IT ARMY on google.com to see wat im talking about

    light jaket and snowpants

    gloves

    helemet

if you have money goggles if not there not that necisary

depending on the forcast you might want thicker jaket/pants

i live in NH and its pretty nice out so u should be fine with light stuff

  2. You would definally want a light weight waterproof coat. If it is too bulky it will be hard to move. Also you will want waterproof snowpants. (Since you are a beginer you will fall lots)  :)  You should definatally use a helmet. Either buy one or check to see if it will come with your rental. You should also have goggles that fit right. You will want a good hat and gloves too. I'm not sure were you live but you might want to go to a local snowboard or ski shop. I dont really like d**k's for snowboard stuff and coats. They have good shorts and other sports things but not too hot on winter outdoor clothing. I hope you have a blast buddy!!! You will fall but keep with it. Ok?

    Good luck!!!

ps- I love your name!!! I dont know if you just chose it or you knew its the snowboarder Travis Kenedys nickname! The Kid

    awesome huh?

  3. You want light weight snow clothes. Like a light weight jacket and snow pants. Regular cloths dont work well, the ski/snowboard pants and jackets are the best cause they will keep you warm and are easy to move in. (Check the temps to be sure you will have adequte warmth).

You need a hat definatly, the ski hats work great, and if your doing to do ALOT of skiing masks usually help too (Especially if its cold). I can go skiing now in SLC, and its nice and warm so no mask needed, but sometimes it will require it.

GOGGLES< definatly, make sure they fit well and will NOT fog up.

Gloves of course are a MUST, ones that wont soak. And extra socks.

Food, and umm thats pretty much it my friend.

  4. HELMET and you might want to rethink going to straton, its a really really big technical mountain, not really for beginners, I frickin broke myself at straton a few years back and i was decent then.  But if your definetly going, HELMET IS #1

  5. Waterproof pants & jacket.  Fleece shirt/jacket.  Non-cotton long underwear and socks.

If you can't rent them get goggles, gloves and a hat/helmet.
