I live in Canada and I'm planning on visiting my family in New York in December for a week and I'm going to Cuba in February. Is this going to cause any problems when I get through customs and immigration?

  1. Not at all.

Cuba does not care where you have been. They will not comment stamps from the US in your passport.

On the other hand, Cuba does not stamp your passport (at least they did not last year for canadian citizen). So if you go back to the US, they will never know you have been to Cuba.

The only restriction is you cannot go to Cuba from the US.

  2. No, not at all. Cuba does not discriminate like that. Your travels to the US doesn't affect entrance into Cuba.

And even if you went to Cuba before going to the US, that also will not affect entrance into the US either...the US has no jurisdiction over your travels as a Canadian...and Cuba has no jurisdiction over your travels either.

    Have a safe trip.

*edit: just to reiterate a point as someone mentioned not being able to go to the US after being in Cuba...that is not true, especially being a Canadian citizen. The US cannot deny you entrance into the States no matter where you have been. It doesn't apply to you (being a non-US resident).

  3. No problem whatsoever.  I do it every year.  Cuba doesn't give a hoot if you have been to the States and doesn't stamp yourr passport
