  1. When are you coming? and will you be in Cairo or another area? June, July and August are trecherously hot months here, so I hope you are not coming now. Today it is 102 degrees F and there is 80 % humidity in Cairo. and little wind. the winter here would be much milder for your son.

Regardless of time at least bring:

Good mosquito repelent that is gentle enough with his skin, (otherwise the mosquitos will eat him up trust me),

strong sunscreen lotion, a hat that shields his face, if he takes any medicines even tylenol bring this with you because pharmacies in Egypt are limmited in what they can carry.

If he still takes any formula or milk be aware that it is not easy to find pasturized milk or every variety of formula such as soy.

If he has sensitive skin consider bringing your own small packets of laundry soap because the soap for laundry here is pretty harsh.

When you get here, if you need some western stuff try to get to a place called "Carrefour". There are several locations and you will have better luck finding more variety of imported stuff.

Of course check with your department of state about needed papers and then check with the pediatrician to be sure he has all his boosters.

oh i almost forgot:  try to bring some packets of sport drink or electrolyte drink. the weather is so sweaty and he might need some. then when you get here only drink bottled water or water that is guaranteed filtered!!!

When you are in the plane you can help his ears adjust by getting him to drink from a bottle or sippie cup alot.

    good luck and have fun

  2. Take for what exactly????

Egypt is boiling this time of year so bare that in mind. If your taking a child take fly spray and something to soothe the bites, high factor sunscreen of course, take Imodium tablets or something similar for children as he's bound to get a bad stomach... erm....... don't forget you camera!!

    Have a great time!!

  3. take cotton clothes to feel comfortable in the heat .

T-shirts and cotton pants/ jeans are suitable .

bring the milk your boy would need if he is still on the bottle .

bring comfortable shoes  and sandals .

bring sunblock and head covers for the family to protect yourselves from the sun.

drink and brush your teeth with bottled water .

    have a nice stay.
