You have the Bavarian Alps right at the front door, so to say. Just use a "Bayernticket" or a "Wochenende-Ticket" from Deutsche Bahn and explore the surroundings. When the weather is warm, I'd also recommend you take a bike with you (beg, borrow, or steal* one).

But I bet you'll end up in some biergarten in Ulm City.

*): Stealing a bike is not recommended. Taking a bike from a friend without his knowing is "unauthorized use of vehicle" and will cost you only the police's expenses when the friend reports a theft before you're sober. Trust me, I know it.

Depending how much time and money you want to spend, there are all kinds of places to go. First Ulm its self is pretty big, then there is Stuttgart, Munich, even other countries like Austria or Swiss.
