Question

i want to know if anyone can reccommend some good restaurants that arn't to touristy.

also some good day trips ect??

I went to Venice at the end of my Honeymoon and had a fantastic time. Part of the pull of the city is that just around every corner is a different restaurant or square. The main touristy resturants are always the ones nearest the Rialto bridge - if you go a little further in there are some fantastic little places to eat. Have a great time, I&#039;m sure you will.

I worked in Lido and visited venice a few times last year. There&#039;s a great square just by the university where the cafes and restaurants are cheap and there are hardly any tourists there at all. Its a little way from rialto bridge but the atmosphere is brilliant.

Sitting in san marco square for coffee can cost a fortune- about 15-20 euros for the privilege but again the atmosphere is great.

There&#039;s also a town called treviso which you can get to by bus (you can&#039;t buy tickets on the bus- you can buy them from tobacco shops or at bus stations) , which is great for wandering around in and again hardly touristy.

i was in venice twise and its one of my favorite cities. i recoomend you to spend a lot time in the small streets, and eat in a little cafes and bar, becouse in all restaurants in the center prices are very high, but if you will sit in PIAZZA SAN MARCO and have a cup of coffe that would be your greatest day. oh iand dont forget to visit SAN GIORGIO MAGIORE.

It&#039;s really difficult to avoid non touristy restaurants in Venice. I tend to avoid the San Marco district and eat in the little local taverns and cafes around the San Paulo area. If you jump on a vaporetto on the grand canal and get off at the San Silvistro stop you&#039;ll be in the right area. Just avoid places near to the Rialto.

For a good day trip you could go to the Lido, Murano or Burano etc. Alternatively you could get a train from Ferrovia on the Grand canal to Verona or Padua as neither are very far away.

It is the street that goes from the train station to San Marco.After the third bridge you get lovely restaurants at reasonable prices.

Also in  Le Zattere : it is the waterfont pavements facing the Canale della Giudecca.

Day trips:The road to Padova offers some incredible villas -some by Palladio.Padova is great.And the usual Murano ,Burano Lido etc.

The farther you get from St. Mark&#039;s Square, the less touristy and expensive the restaurants.

Lido&#039;s a good day trip if the weather is with you.

To find good places to eat like a true venician, just escape from the heart of Venice.

A particulary nice place to find enjoyables restaurants and to mingle with young venician students is campo Santa Margherita in the Dorsoduro.
