if you have a pc/windows, i would recommand you to use microsoft word

if you have mac, pages are good to use.

Both are simple and easy to use, and are mostly already installed on your computer/laptop.

(both programs helps you check your spelling and grammer, and you can decorate your work as well!)

You've got to use OpenOffice, which is free of charge.  It will autocomplete your words as you type; this feature has saved me hundreds of hours of typing time over the past few years.  (Be sure to set the autocomplete to 5 letters in Preferences for best results.)  Since I started using OO I can't understand why anyone pays to use Office anymore.

Microsoft word would be best in my opinion because of spell check and all that, but there also is notepad or wordpad.
