I'm going walking though blue mountains in australian, but are there leeches in there and..?

will they get stuck to me if so, how do i prevent them from getting on me?

  1. id say long pants + long socks should keep you moderately safe.


  2. I'm pretty sure there are leeches, but they are nothing to worry about. Just keep covered up to prevent it, there is really nothing else you can do. Wear high top boots, long socks, long pants, that kind of thing. If one does get onto you, just sprinkle salt on it or hold a lighter to it, they will fall off quickly if you do.

  3. I've been bushwalking through the Blue Mountains and never  saw a single leach.    I think it is just too dry for them to live there.    I have experienced them in the tropical forests for North Queensland though.  Even so it is good practise to wear covered shoes and strong socks to protect from any other critters out there.
