  1. If he's talkative and playful, he'll probably lead you to his toys. pick up a few and play with him. The mother might want you too take him outside, if so, he might have some bubbles, hula hoops, ridable trucks, and other outside games. And even if he doesn't, 2yrold boys will usually tell YOU what he wants to do. If he doesn't know you already, he may be more trustworthy of you, or more willing to let you stay, if you make him or bring him a toy.

Tell me how it went! Crik

  2. \he will probably want to show you his toys and play with his usual stuff BUT if he is unsure of you and you want to encourage him to come to you, OR if he is bored and restless, take some basics.

    An interesting picture book.

A pad of paper and a few coloured crayons.

Some raisins or chocolate drops.  (don't let him see the packet just offer the odd one as a reward for good behaviour, or to get him to do something(here, have this - you can have another when you sit in your push chair))

A small toy (something with wheels or moving parts but age aproptiate)

a small pot of age apropriate soft play dough (just b carefull of the carpets)

    A tub of bubble mixture.

    An inflatable beach ball.

Stickers (paper to stick them on if he tries to put them on the furniture)

Save your stuff for if you really need it, It's allways worth having tricks up your sleeve.

    Good activities include

Walk to the shop (with a list for him draw it rather than write it)

Feed the ducks (reigns on if available  and watch out for beaks at eye height)

Food, get him to help you make a little jam sandwich (he can help you get the bread out of the packet, try to spread, sprinkle grated cheese on, cut with a blunt knife) It will probably look nothing like a sandwich!

TV sitting on your knee if he gets tired

Read a book do a puxxle take a big card board box and turn it into a boat, car, train, castle etc

Most important at this age is to talk and listen to him as language is so important to his developement and you can help make a difference.  What ever you do with him talk as you go ask questions and give him time to answer.

Anything thta he has to concentrate on with his fingers is good.

I hope you have a good time and I'm sure when you are there you'll know exactly what to do.
