Question:

I'm growing snapdragons from seed...?

They seeds were really small and I put about 20 of them in my 8" pot. Now they just look like 1/2" little clovers with only two little leaves. Plus, they're really fragile; the root are not deep at all. Are those my snapdragons? or just something coming from the yard soil I used?

Thanks

  1. It's too late for snapdragons for this year. They needed to be started months ago. If you used garden soil rather than sterilized starting medium they may well be something that germinated out of the soil. You could always keep them just as an experiment.

  2. Could be the snapdragons or could be weeds. You won't know until they put out the true leaves. The first two leaves to appear on the seedlings are known as cotyledons. These bear no resemblance to the real leaves. Those will come later. Once the true leaves appear you will be able to compare with images online.

Hopefully they will be your seeds. Snapdragons are very easy to germinate so chances are that is what you have growing.
