The lump is located on my left side next to my breast slightly under my arm pit. Could this be a signs of cancer or something else?

  1. Discharge is not a big deal, but any time a new lump is discovered, its a good idea to have it evaluated by a doc, even though odds are that its nothing to worry about.   The only way to tell if the lump could be cancerous is for a doc to examine the lump and possibly take a biopsy.

  2. It could be something as little as a nasty infection or as serious as cancer.  Though it does have signs of being potenial cancer.  I would highly recommend going to see a breast surgeon/specialist doctor for a thorough diagnosis and do it as soon as possible.

  3. Yes some of these can be symptoms of breast cancer but unless you see a doctor you will not definitely know. You should see a doctor asap to rule out cancer and to treat these symptoms.

  4. This could be sign of an infection or, unfortunately, it could also be a sign of cancer.  I would get to your doctor as soon as possible.  You are going to want to have a mammogram and an ultrasound done.  You also should probably have the lump aspirated and the fluid from the lump as well as the discharge biopsied to determine if there are any abnormal cells.

If you need any help during this time, you can go to the web sites below.  There are also hotlines you can call to get more information.

I hope this is just an infection.  But these are symptoms that must be taken seriously and acted on as soon as possible.
