  1. cheese and sausage plate, or veggie plate w/ ranch dip

  2. assorted cheese/french bread/grapes

    vegetable dip/veggies

    spinich dip/bread bowl/french bread/crackers

    antipasta plate - salami/pickles/peperoncini peppers/olives - green/black /sundried tomatos

    assorted finger sandwiches/tuna/egg salad/ham/cheese etc...

    fruit salad - small -  berries/melons ( no banana )

  3. chips, cheese and crackers, deli meats, veggies and dip, mini sandwiches. Most of this type of stuff will stay good long enough for the party.

  4. Here are a few ideas:

    Pinwheels

    Ing:

    * 1 (8 ounce) package whipped cream cheese

    * 10 (10 inch) flour tortillas

    * 1/2 cup green onions, chopped

    * 1/4 cup black olives, chopped (optional)

    * 3/4 cup chopped ham slices

    Dir:

    1. Spread whipped cream cheese spread evenly on tortillas. Sprinkle the green onions, black olives and chopped ham slices evenly between all ten of the tortillas. Roll tortillas up jellyroll style. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.

    2. Remove from refrigerator and slice at 3/4 inch intervals. Arrange on tray and serve.

    **You can change it up a bit by adding a layer of baby spinach leaves, or changing the lunch meat (turkey, for example)

    ~~Cheese & Pineapple

    Ing:

    * Cheddar cheese, cut into cubes of approximately ½ an inch

    * Pineapple cubes

    * Toothpicks

    Dir:

    First cut the cheddar cheese into cubes and put one cube onto one toothpick. Then take a cube of fresh or canned pineapple and put it next to the cheese on the toothpick. Cheese and pineapple on picks is quick and easy to prepare and the combination of flavors is absolutely delicious.

    ~~Cucumber Sandwiches

    Ing:

    * Thinly sliced bread

    * Cucumber

    * Butter (at room temperature it makes it easier to spread)

    * Salt if liked

    Dir:

    Firstly butter the sliced bread and cut off the crusts. Now peel a cucumber and slice it very thinly and arrange on one slice of the buttered bread and lightly sprinkle with salt if liked. Then top with another slice of buttered bread and cut the sandwich into four neat dainty triangles.

    It's always a good idea to cover sandwiches until they are needed to prevent them from drying out.

    ~~Cheese Straws

    Ing:

    * 8oz all-purpose flour 2 cups

    * 6oz shredded (grated) cheddar cheese

    * 4oz butter (softened)

    * 2 egg yolks

    * Salt and pepper

    Dir:

    In a bowl mix together the all-purpose flour, the salt and pepper and the shredded cheese now rub in the butter and then add the yolks of two eggs and stir everything together. Then knead until smooth.

    Next on a floured board roll out the dough until its about ¼ inch thick. Now cut into fingers about 3 inches long and ½ an inch wide.

    Place the cheese straws onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for approximately 20 minutes until golden at 350°F (180°C).

  5. antipasto. You can go to the store and get cuts of salami and meats, get some blocks of cheese and cube them, get some fresh veggies and cut them into strips and add dip and you have crudites, you can also get crackers and dips and spread them. A big bowl of salsa can go a long way and if you make it yourself it's cheaper. All you have to do is dice one onion, one green bell pepper, 2 cans of sliced black olives, three tomatoes, the juice of three limes, and dice up cilantro and it will feed your group. Popcorn and pretzels go a long way and fill your guests up quickly as well.

  6. Aside from the obvious choices, like chips and dip, nuts, a crudite platter etc, here are a few other options...

    Shrimp cocktails - you don't need a lot of shrimp for this, buy the cooked, peeled kinds with tails, defrost (if frozen) and serve them on shot glasses half filled with cocktail sauce (cute and easy)

    Marinated olives

    Caprese skewers - combine equal parts olive oil and balsamic vinegar (or use a bottle of dressing) and pour over a bowl filled with mozzarella balls (the little ones) and cherry tomatos. Before the party, thread them onto skewers, alternating cheese and tomatos (you can also add basil leaves to the skewers if you want)

    Chicken/beef skewers - make these ahead of time, then refrigerate - serve cold/room temp with a dipping sauce (teriyaki, satay sauce)

    'Tostaditos' - use shredded or ground beef/chicken to top round tortilla chips - add a little salsa/guac and sprinkle cheese on top

    A more filling option, if the party is around dinner time, is to get a half ham, cook it with a yummy glaze, and then cool. You can serve it cold if you make the day before, or serve it out of the oven and let it cool (it will be fine) - serve it with little dinner rolls or biscuits, and mustard, so guests can make their own 'sandwiches'. Thinly shaved roast beef also works for this, and is good w/ mustard

    Hopefully these suggestions are helpful...

  7. It's always cheaper to make stuff yourself, not to mention people LOVE it. If you go online to bettycrocker.com or just type "easy party food" or something like that you'll come across a ton of websites that offer simple recipes for finger food. You can whip something up yourself for everyone and save a lot of cash.

  8. RAW MEAT FTW!!! XDDD

  9. Cheese sticks, jalopeno poppers, cheese salami crackers, finger sandwiches.

  10. Veggie and / or Fruit trays.  Melon balls are great on inexpensive.  Chips and dip.

  11. you could have sandwich's and place them in a cool spot in your house. you could also have chips and dip of course...

  12. chips and dip or salsa with some vegtables..and get some of those containers of nuts...

  13. Ask your friends to each bring a dish.  That will dramatically cut the costs.  Most people offer to bring a dish to a party anyway.

  14. Some chips and dip, chips and salsa, finger sandwiches, maybe some cheese and different kinds of crackers.
