I can think of quite a few themes for an outdoor BBQ - apart from the obvious cowboy theme.

If you are going to be enjoying summer weather why not a caribbean theme - steel bands and fancy shirts, bermuda shorts etc:-

Favourite sport/sporting personality,

A yachting regatta

anyone for tennis - or dress only in white

You could choose a music theme, but I am a bit too old to recommend anything in particular for that.

Whatever you choose, have a very nice birthday.

they have great bbq's

do some beef on the grill

decorate with western stuff, cowboy hats, boots, toy guns, etc.

and instead of using napkins use bandanas, and everyone gets to keep theirs as a party favor.
