I'm having a BT line installed soon, with no broadband or anything, just the line - although i'm aware i'm signed up for 12months to this line. Is it true that i can immdiately get TalkTalk broadband and phone tariff without any complications regarding BT contrACT?

  1. Dont go with talktalk because they will tie you into a contract of about 18 months. Go with telecom plus who are even cheaper than talk talk. They do line rental, broadband, calls, gas and electricity hence you can get one montly bill and one direct debit. Their services got no minimum contract(can leave them any time) and no connection charge. there is about £30 connection fee with talk talk. www.telecomplus.org.uk/A10928

  2. BT will ask you to stay at least 3 Months with them before you can transfer your line to someone else.

  3. Hi, yes you can the only issue is your BT contract, if it's a new line then it's 12 months and if its a line that you have "started" no installed then it 3 months. You can in fact move to another provider straight away, but you need to keep the line with BT for the min term (or pay the termination charges).  The line rental will work at at about £10.00 per month, but your calls, and broadband can be with anyone.

    Hope this helps?

  4. The thing to be aware of is that when you join up to TalkTalk they visit your local BT telephone exchange and install their own connection to the system. If I were you I would talk to BT as soon as possible to see whether or not you have to complete 12 months with them until moving to TalkTalk. Don't ask TalkTalk because they might advise you wrongly just to get your business.
