Everytime I try to boot up my computer, it shuts itself off again. I have Windows XP, and it gets to the desktop. It stays on the desktop for a few minutes then a box pops up saying that windows is shutting down, and it gives a timer counting down from a minute. I'm not really sure what I can do to fix it.us

  8. I had this happen to me but it shut off before it got to the desk top. WIndows XP needs re-installing but if you have not saved any files and re-install then you will lose everything. If you have important data then the best thing to do is to take it to PC world or another computer repair shop and they will saved the important files and re-install windows XP.( It costs about 40€ which you can convert to your own currency depending on where you live.)

  9. sounds like you have the old blaster worm virus, when u see the count down do this start ---> run and type in shutdown -a this will stop the shutdown
