I'm thinking about having my guest dress up as characters from the the 50's, 60's, and 70's. For the menu I want to have more sophisticated finger food items. As for decoration, I'm considering buying some art or have some donated to me and hang it around, sort of a mellow hangout thing. I'm not sure if I should hire a D.J. or have my friends burn a fun surprise mix tape. I don't know what I'm going to wear or how I'm going to look, but I know that I want to stand out from the crowd. I'm having it in the backyard of my house. We have a large patio and I'm only inviting 50-60 people.

  1. Wear a multicolored 60s party dress and wear white go go boots with eccentric eye makeup. Have your parents dress up as Sonny and Cher. Buy some Andy Warhol prints or other art you like from www.allposters.com. As an appetizer you can buy a bunch of plastic or glass martini glasses and fill them with fruit salad. As a center piece use similar glasses but fill those with jelly beans. You can also have chocolate covered strawberries. Buy some silly string and randomly spray people.
