I'm having a bit of a soiree tomorrow, what terribly clever things should we do for entertainment?

Glorious love, if you want ping pong balls, thou shalt have ping pong balls.

How many do you require? And do I want to be in a different wing when you use them?

  1. Well, my dearest friend Doris is 108 but she still plays the viola.  However, being highly musical, she told me this evening that the nerves in one hand are 'torn to shreds'.  So I think that means a no.

I can play all the notes for 'CABBAGE' on the piano, many times over.  Would that do?

Sorry - only other thing I can think of is Pin The Tail On The Donkey p**n Star.

  2. Prank calls...or cocktail truth or dare...Margarita style!

  3. pin the tail on the man servant

  4. I usually just provide comfy places for people to sit, little tables scattered about for setting drinks and food while standing, and an area cleared out for dancing.  Your terribly clever friends will almost certainly figure out how to entertain themselves.  They'll be laughing and talking and having the proverbial big ol' time right away, as long as you provide them with spaces that facilitate that.

But, if you want some other entertainment than just your selves, here are some suggestions:

    - Set out art supplies such as drawing paper and colored pencils for those creative types.  I've made this a regular habit.

    - Have a more in depth crafting party.  We once had a mask making party that went swimmingly.  A candle making party could be fun too, or a pottery/sculpture party.

    - Start out with a wine tasting.  A mystery wine tasting can be even more fun, with people trying to guess what king it is.  Make it multiple choice so even the inexperienced have a chance of getting it right.

    - Strippers!  :)

    - Have food-making be part of the party.  Oh, I need to have another empanada party!

    - Play that game where you start writing a story or drawing a picture and then hand it off for someone else to continue.

In general, with entertainment I find it's best to choose something that not everyone needs to participate in.  If you choose something like subcategories then people either much participate or leave.  If you simply have activities available for people to do as they please, then they can just sit and talk if they would rather.

  5. I presume one has a swimming pool, and therefore underwater games can be fun.

    I so love blowing bubbles...oops...sorry.

  6. I dunno, do you have any ping-pong balls Bitsy?

when *I* use them??? goodness Bitsy you're the tallented one in this respect.

  7. lots of shots, truth or dare. make up truth and dares beforehand it goes quicker. hope to see boobies, encourage it.

  8. Rotter can demonstrate his weapon and Lady Mc Fud might be persuaded to give a slide show of her recent French experiences.  Finish off with Murder in the Dark – everybody hides in cupboards with the lights switched off.  Marvellous!  I bags I hide with Bongo.

  9. Well, I like Scattergories...

  10. Play "Who's Line Is It Anyway" games - I like "props"

For starters, get a pair of panty hose and put a tennis ball in each leg.  Have couples come up with as many funny things they can for each "prop" you have.  Just go to the store and find things to make (or look around your house).

  11. Pin the p***s on the gentleman.  The photograph prop should be of someone detestable such as Piers Morgan, and the blindfolded guest who pins the appendage closest to its correct position (in the middle of his forehead) wins first prize. Toodle pip.
