How many pounds did you lose instantly? Was it painful? Did you look and feel didnt? Do you miss them?

I know I will not miss them, but just curious to know if others do.

  1. I am 22 years old and I had a breast reduction surgery a year ago. I was a 36F and went to a 36D (Lost 5 lbs off chest), probably the best decision I have made so far in my life. I don’t miss them in the least. I have even sometimes wished I was a bit smaller, but going smaller would not have flattered my figure.

I am not fond of hospitals and I do not do well with needles either. The day of my surgery I had the support of my family that stayed with me until I went into the operating room. My doctor, the anesthesiologist and nurses all talked to me and really made me feel so much better and comfortable. I don't know if it would be the same for you, but they got me on the operating table and the guy said that he was administering the anesthesia, the next thing I know I was waking up in the recovery room. I think most hospitals realize many people have a fear of surgery and they try their best to make you feel better.

The surgery was not as stressful as I thought it would be. I really didn't experience much pain; I only took my prescribed pain pill for 3 days. The most pain I experienced was when I tried to take off the surgical tape on my b*****s (I spent an hour in the shower to take them off). I took 2 weeks off of work, but I felt fine after a week, I just thought it was best to take another week off just to make sure I was healing right. The things I didn't like was being a little nauseous in the beginning and then having to sleep upright for about a week and then sleeping on my back for a month.

I do of course have scarring under my b*****s, up to my nipples and then around my nipples. I did everything my doctor told me to do, to take care of my scars. There is only about 2 inches on the side of my right breast that is still slightly red and raised up, but that is normal. The rest of my scars are lightly faded and you don't notice too much.

I loved going shopping once I was fully healed. I even went into a Victoria’s Secret shop and bought a nice new bra! My clothes fit me much better and they are not oversized to hide my breast. People first thought I lost a bunch of weight once they saw me after my surgery.

Good luck to you and your surgery!

  2. No, I havn't had one but can I get some of yours!?

  3. Had one Feb 2006.

I lost 4.8 lbs off of my chest.

I was in NO pain after the surgery.

I missed them once, however I do not now.

Take before and after pictures, and then take pictures weekly/monthly to document your healing process.  You can see how they heal with the pictures.

  4. I actually had a reduction two months ago.

Right after my 15th birthday. I had 40DD's and I was about 5'5 and 125 pounds. They caused terrible back/neck and shoulder pain. And my body just looked awkward.

After my surgery my doctor said she removed almost 3 and a half pounds.

The first week after surgery is the most painful, after that you can do most of the things you could always do, but no heavy lifting.

I slept during most of the first week because of all the medications I was taking. Overall I probably lost 8 to 10 pounds.

I could feel the difference right away. I could stand up taller and my chest was much lighter. I felt a lot more confident about myself afterwards.

I don't miss them at all! They caused so much pain and embarrassment.

Now I can do anything I want to do without feeling insecure and being in pain.

It really has changed my life.

    I think you'll be a lot happier

Hope everything goes well for you!

    Best wishes--

    :)

  5. I had one 8 years ago. They took 1 lb out of one breast and 2 lbs out of the other. It was really not bad at all. I went back to work after a week. I am so glad that I did it, even though I don't have full sensation in my nipples. It is so much better because my b*****s were really lopsided, so finding a bra that fit was practically impossible. I do have some scarring around one of my nipples because when they moved the nipple, it had to move so far that it lost some of its blood supply. I'm sure your surgeon has told you all of this, however if I had it to do over again, I would!! And I don't miss my former b*****s. Now I can find bras that actually fit and clothes look better over them. I wish you all the best and know that you will love the results!!!
