I'm having a difficult time flossing my bottom teeth with braces. Any tips?

Hello all.

After being so used to flossing my top teeth with braces for nearly six months, I just got my bottom ones on Monday. I thought it would be simple to floss my bottom teeth, but it is really quite difficult. My hands are hard to control, because they want to floss up instead of down for some reason.

My oral hygiene is very good since my teeth are easier to get to now, but I'm afraid I'm not going to get the hang of it. And the plaque is driving me CRAZY.

I do use the threader floss by Oral B that has that stiff part on it for easy flossing.

Any tips?

Thanks.

  1. ask your dentist for these things called floss-aids or something like that i think you can find them in the store ...it helps you get between your teeth and under the wire... or at least that's what they gave me for my permanent retainer

  2. HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE THE HEALTHIEST GUMS AND CLEANEST BRACES EVER W/O EVER FLOSSING?

    BUY AND USE A WATERPIK

THIS IS MUCH FASTER, EFFECTIVE AND EASIER THAN FLOSSING EVER WAS OR CAN BE.

  3. Sorry I don't have many helpful tips, just practice makes perfect.

  4. Just keep trying, you'll figure it out.

By the way, get some Listerine, it helps to for healthy gums.
