I'm having a filling on monday without an injection. does it hurt?

the dentist told me that i need to have a filling in the back tooth of my mouth. she said that i didn't need an injection because the hole was very small. will the drilling and filling hurt without the area being dumb as i am getting worried. thanks and please get back to me soon, before monday morning. many thanks

you must tell your dentist that you want the injection...its important you get it..if not it will affect your gum and tooth within. even if tooth has very Small damaged done to the tooth you must still get the injection ok

No fillings don't hurt i had a lot of fillings on my milk teeth and several on my adult teeth

If the dentist has said you don't need an injection then that's because it won't hurt.

If you're not having an injection it means it's not deep enough to touch any part of the tooth where you might feel anything. So no pain :)

yes u can get it done wihtout injections..

i have had 4 done at once without the injections. the dentist assured me if i felt any pain he would do the injection. it only felt weird for a lil bit.

If the cavity is small and not near the nerve it shouldn't hurt.Getting an injection is not painful.

No ,if it is only a small filling you will not feel any pain because the nerves of teeth are deep.

I have had 9 fillings in my life and two without the injections but I would rather the injection. It didn't really hurt but I could feel everything they were doing.

no, i had one just the same, your mouth will feel quite strange as the drill vibrates etc but it wont be very painful. You can always raise your arm and she will stop if it does hurt so don't worry.

Hi - I had exactly the same thing.  I'm also petrified of needles + my dentist said that it's my decision but he would be ok doing it without injection as the decay was very small.  I was really nervous going in but didn't hurt at all.  The drill just makes a horrible noise and kind of just vibrates a little.  The filling is simply a substance that is inserted into the drilled area.  Please, don't worry.  It did not hurt me at all, and I have a VERY low pain threshold!

Do NOT let that dentist put amalgam (silver) filling material in your mouth, especially the back molar.  That molar reflexes to your heart tissue and when it gets infected, it affects your heart.  Many problems start when dentists use bad materials.  If you go to a dentist with a laser drill, you will not have to get an injection because it causes NO pain, even in deep drilling.

I would also make sure to have your dentist use the dye to determine exactly where the infection is located on your tooth before doing any drilling.  I would also require them to use only ceramic to fill the cavity created by the drilling.  

The shots they give you to deaden your nerves are typically an aniline chemical, such as novocaine, carbocaine, procaine, lidocaine, etc.  These are ALL AGGRESSIVELY CARCINOGENIC and are very toxic to the body.  Septocaine is the only "caine" that does NOT generate the aniline homologs that are cancer promoting.

Take care of your teeth because they are very important in regard to your health.  Many diseases and problems stem from the teeth and so called "modern dentistry."  It may be modern, but that doesn't mean it's good.

hey, no it doesnt hurt, i chose to have a filling done without an injection because THEY hurt me so much, the feeling is just like having really sensitive teeth, im not going to sit and tell  you know to worry because its all i do!!! good luck!!!!  x

No it doesn't hurt. The dentist did one on mine and only told me after it was finished. You only need to worry if he intends drilling down to the root.
