I'm having a hard time driving manual!!!!!!!!!!?

Question

I'm on my second day at my auto school and the main problem im having with driving a manual car is when i come a complete stop and then have to start up again. It takes me so god d**n long to start it back up and sometimes the car kicks back!!! having to let go of the clutch slowly and giving it a little bit of has is killing me!! plus the instructor dude is a pain in the ***! he always complaining about me giving it too much gas or braking too god d**n much i wanna kill the guy lol!!!!! im going insane!!!

practice, practice, practice.  After a while you don't even have to think about it.  I tried to learn w/ my dad in the car when I was 12 or 13, but the pressure worked against me.  I didn't get really good at it until a girl I dated had a little standard pickup and I was able to practice by myself a bit.  Just keep after it.

try living in the uk where we as standard learn to drive manual gearbox...auto is an option that u ask for when learning....to be honest with u i  prefer manual...as for instructor he is not being a pain in the *** he is helping u

Maybe hes a pain in the a$$, but what he is telling you is actually gonna help you...if your giving too much gas, wel then your giving it too much gas! it may be a pain...but hes just tellin you what your doin wrong! Listen to him, practice, and you'll be fine eventually

its hard at first, but practice will really make you a lot better. starting is the hardest part

If you can get a car to do a little self-teaching, get it into a deserted parking lot.  Get the car moving using only the clutch, no gas.  Keep doing this - get it moving to the point that your foot's completely off the clutch, then stop and do it again.  Eventually (half an hour or so) you'll be able to start smoothly.  Then start giving it a little gas when you start.

(NEVER learn to drive manual on a Honda, though - they're too easy.)
