  1. get a new docter

  2. Pdd is a difficult diagnosis to make. My son had been "quirky" from the age of 2.5, but we just thought it was ADHD. finally at age 11 he attacked a teacher at school and they sent us to mental health. mental health and the school both evaluated him and decided that he was PDD-NOS.

his eating problems might have a root in sensory disfunction. maybe you want to ask your doctor for an OT consult.

my first doctor really didn't give me much education on PDD and that really bothered me. my second doctor reccomended a book or two, but I found a few on my own that really helped. the first one is " a parent's guide to asperger syndrome and high-functioning autism". it is really parent friendly and has charts and case studies to help you understand the information. another that I read (for my other son) was called "the out of sync child" it tells you about sensory disfuntion and how it can affect behavior. I just want to let you know that my PDD son was a picky eater too. He hated meat. He would eat hot dogs and chicken nuggets, but no regular chicken or hamburger meat. he still isn't a fan of soup. it could be that your son dislikes the texture of most foods. an OT evaluation could help ID this. Or you could ask your son why he doesn't like certain foods. If he tells you something like " it feels funny in my mouth" then you know the answer.

  3. Change doctors

  4. Please change doctors. Vitamins are OTC you don't need a script.

  5. If you are uncomfortable with the doctors advice get a second opinion

  6. Your doctor may be unfamiliar with your son's diagnosis and is attempting to blow you off.  I would definitely seek another physician that is a little more caring and compassionate. I think it is unfortunate that your son has had to go this long without a diagnosis especially when you have addressed concerns with your physician. Seek another doctor now.

  7. find a new doctor

  8. Its not you it is autism

  9. i would suggest finding a different dr if his diag. was confirmed then ur dr is giving u bad advise.him needs special attention with pdd and ur dr is denying him that get a second opinion and i would report him

  10. Here's the deal:  the doctor is your employee.  You are the boss.  If you are not happy with the way your employee is performing, do not hesitate to fire him.  But first, interview other docs to find one with whom you are comfortable.

    Be well.
