  1. how about a canned ham? cook it with pineapple. Fruit Kebabs are good, or a fruit salad. Think about grilling fruit (pineapple, bananas, etc). Chicken wings with a teriyake pineapple sauce.

  2. Pineapple Baked Beans, good for protein, adults will love it.

    4 (16-ounce) cans baked beans

1 (20-ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained

    1 cup molasses

    1 cup BBQ sauce

2 tablespoon yellow or brown mustard

    5 slices cooked bacon, crumbled

    1 (6-ounce) can french-fried onions, crushed

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In large bowl, mix together beans, pineapple, molasses, BBQ sauce, mustard, bacon, and a third of the onions. Add some salt and pepper, to taste. Pour beans in 9 by 13-inch casserole dish and sprinkle remaining crushed onions and bacon on top. Cook in oven for 1 hour or until beans brown and bubble. Serve warm.

  3. Hawiian Punch for the kids.

Rainbow sherbert with 7-up poured over it as a punch.

Pineapple, just buy the can chunks put them on toothpicks.

Ham and turkey on Sweet Hawiian rolls.

  4. pizza with Canadian bacon and pineapple, kids love pizza and it's Hawaiian or there's always Spam burgers!

  5. You can get all the info here:

  6. Btw:  the strawberries at Walmart looked HORRIBLE yesterday!:)  Kroger's produce is much better....

Make FRUIT KEBOBS and stick the skewers into whole fresh pineapple, and use those for centerpieces.   You can hollow out 1/2 watermelon (whole melons were $4.88 at Walmart) and refill with cubed melons, berries for a fruit salad.....  Make some HAWAIIAN COLESLAW  (Buy 1 lb. at Walmart and mix with 2 bags of shredded coleslaw cabbage; adding 1 can drained crushed pineapple - no need to add any more liquid, since Walmart's coleslaw is runny)  .....  Crockpot with FANCY FRANKS (1 12-oz. bottle chili sauce, 1 jar grape jelly, 1 large can drained pineapple chunks and 1 lb. cut up hot dogs - heat all together in crockpot & serve with toothpicks) ......   You can always make a BBQ brisket, however you'd normally make it, and serve it shredded (pulled) on rolls with some Honey BBQ sauce  .....  Have some dishes of dried tropical fruit on the table (Walmart has bags of Tropical Fruit trail mix) ....   Buy a cake mix (or 2) for $.92 at Walmart and make 9x13" cake.  Walmart has coconut and pineapple mixes, and you could make one of each and use them as a 2-layer sheet cake.  (Just beat the batter at least 3 min, and it will be wonderful).  Whip 2 c. heavy cream with 1 pkg. pineapple or mango jello (or other tropical flavor) and use as the filling, and frost the sides & top.....  Go to Dollar Tree to find cute, cheap decorations ..... (I recommend lemonade for the kids - Hawaiian punch will stain when they spill it)  .... Oh!  If you want POI (at ALL Hawaiian luaus, but tastes dreadful), get a container of hummus, and add the smallest dot of each red & blue food color - to get it purple - and serve with chips....

  7. I just have to come out and say that if you are planning to serve actual food at this event, $100 dollars will not be enough for 30 people.  Now, if you are just doing little munchies, you should be ok I guess.  Fresh fruit kabobs would be nice---just thread pinapple chunks, melon, grapes, etc. on wooden skewers.

  8. My uncle makes his beans and hot dogs with pineapples during the summer. Just puts them all in a crock pot and cooks them all day for whenever anyone is hungry. My kids love it. Poi is a purple food made by the Hawaiians, but I hear its an aquired taste, so I was thinking making purple mashed potatoes or purple potato salad. There are actually purple potatoes you can buy at the store, but they could be hard to find. Food coloring is probably the easiest way to go.

Here is a link to Hawaiian foods, if you can't make exactly that, adapt the recipe to fit your needs.
