I have a belkin router and a motorola modem. Connect is fine but when i come home after being out its disconnected and i have to restart the modem then its fine, or if i'm playing my xbox 360. I can play for about half-hour/hour then it disconnects. Then have to reset modem again.

Any help would be gladly excepted lol.

  1. NO you don't need to switch them off like the previous comment said they are meant to be left on all the time. If you have a older modem some of them have a hard time staying connected no the newer systems  and make sure if you did not get the modem from you ISP make sure it is compatible. The ISP's send encrypted info to the modems and your modem may not understand it therefore shutting it off. Or if none of that is the problem make sure your modem is standing up with nothing real close to its sides because the can over heat pretty easy which may cause it to shut off to cool down.

  2. I suspect your ISP.

    We never lose our connection.

  3. You should always switch 'Off' the Modem or Wireless rooter when it is not in use. USB connected ones will do it automaticly, as there is no power supply going to them whilst the computer is not on.

  4. i have that problem

except it isnt with  my xbox as i dont have one

but with my modem/ router whatever it is.

it works for about half hour then cuts out for the rest of the day

  5. because your router is g*y
