There is nothing visible wrong with it, but for the lack of water in the tank. No cracks (Looked for it when pouring water in). Everything really seems fine. Every things connected as it should be as far as I can tell. Any advice would be appreciated, save me from the evils of plumbers and you'll get best answer.

  1. did someone turn the water line off to the toilet tank?

do you have a round ball float? and is the float ball stuck up in the air? if so push it down so that the water will come into the tank.

if not a round ball float, then maybe you have what's known as a tower float. the same principle applies if the tower is stuck up top push it back down to the bottom so the water can once again enter the tank.

more than likely though it would seem as though the waters turned off or (never heard of this) the water line is clogged.

look for a valve in the water line going to the tank and see if you can turn it.

did you just recently;y just move in there?

someone before you may have turned the water off just to be safe while the place was empty.

    good luck to ya.

  2. i dont knw whatyou are talking about but change the water flapper on the bottom of the water tank anyway. Costs about 2 dollars.

  3. the water in tank is what makes the toilet flush, no water no flush! you can fill a bucket w/ water and pour it in bowl and it will flush

  4. The diaphragm on the bottom of the syphon is worn and not raising enough water to flush. You need a new syphon.

  5. Let's hope there are not too many versions of the flush controls in the tank. The most common is a tube-shaped apparatus which most likely will have a lever on the side of it which should move up and down when the water is present, this is the flush control valve. Here is the main department to look for any problems with a lack of water. In some varities there is also on the side of these control valves an extended device with a round ball attached to the end, this will go up when water level rises, and goes down when water recedes. This must be moveable up and down. Now back to the other mentioned before. There is another device attached to the other flush valve and this most goe up and down. Be sure to check the water supply shutt-off valve to see that its open. this is below the toilet tank underneath. If all is o.k. here then look for a defective flush control valve which varies in styles from about ten to twenty dollars possibly. If you are not certain then do as some folks, and look for a Handy-Man business these guys do a terrific job and are much cheaper than a licenced plumber. good luck

  6. This sounds to me like the fill tower is not letting water in to the tank, and the only way you can get it to flush is to fill the tank manually with a bucket, correct???  If that's the problem you most likely just need to replace the fill valve, (first check the shutoff on the wall to make sure no one has turned it off and not told you).   It's not a tough job, can be done with a pair of channel locks and a few towels, or a shop vac for the water in the tank bottom.  They cost about $12 bucks for a decent unit, called a Flushmaster.  Should be available at any decent hardware, home improvement store or large dept. store.

  7. USA    No water means the water leaks past the flapper, and for some reason the the fill valve does not open.

Replace the entire flush valve assembly.  They cost twenty to thirty dollars to buy at the store.  I can remove the old one, install and adjust the new one in less than one hour, provided you have a normal tank.
