  1. see if you can download mozilla firefox browser, much safer browser....

    http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

    then download Malwarebytes

    http://www.malwarebytes.org/

    scan with malware bytes...

    download Superantispyware and scan

    http://www.superantispyware.com/download...

    then download avira antivir...

    http://www.free-av.de/en/index.html

    ONLY USE ONE ANTI-VIRUS PROGRAM

all these programs are powerful and free...

if there's still problems let me know I'll give you some more steps to follow

  2. If the anti-virus program already clean your USB drive.

Then the data should be fine.

  3. If the drive has a virus on it, everything that touches it will get the virus, including the USB drive. You may have to format and re-install Windows to get rid of it. Better yet, download Linux and run it...no virus ever, and hackers cannot hack Linux. Realize this...viruses are written to attack virus protection software. Now haw can Norton or any of them stay in business if the completely prevent a virus?

  4. Run your usb in a sandbox, no virus or malware can be transmitted unless you specifically recover it to your drives.
