I'm only 13 and my sister who is 27 now started having the same problem when she was my age. When I walk I can feel my Knee clicking and I can't run because it is simply too painful. And after about a month I have realised that I can move my knee cap around my knee area! Any advice please? My parents think it will be fine and are therefore not taking me to the doctor.

  1. If your knee hurts while you move, it could mean that your cartilage has slipped out of place or has been ground down. This could lead to severe joint problems. I'd recommend that you go see a doctor specializing in joints ^^.

  2. ouch.

  3. First, everyone can move their kneecap around.  It's created to move in many different directions and so will move that way if you do it by hand, too.  Second, you are in the age group when you sometimes have pain just from the bones and joints growing.  If your parents won't take you to the doctor(which I recommend just to make sure) you can try nonimpact exercises to strengthen the muscles around the joint to provide more support.  This would include things like stationary bicycles or walking in a pool.  But if the exercise doesn't help and your walking is seriously impaired, I think your parents should take you seriously.
