  1. Mermaid

To see a mermaid in your dream, signifies the female aspect of yourself that is mysterious and secretive. It may also show a fear of s*x. In particular, for a man to dream of a mermaid, it indicates that he is having fears of being drowned by the feminine aspect of his psyche. For a woman, it suggests doubts over her femininity.

    Beach

To see the beach in your dream, symbolizes the meeting between your two states of mind. The sand is symbolic of the rational and mental processes while the water signifies the irrational, unsteady, and emotional aspects of yourself. It is a place of transition between the physical/material and the spiritual.

To dream that you are on the beach and looking out toward the ocean, indicates unknown and major changes that are occurring in your life. Consider the state of the ocean, whether it is calm, pleasant, forbidding, etc.

    hope this helps! =)

  2. Don't wait to become a mermaid, why don't you become a swimmer and life gaurd? I bet you'd love that.

I'd say this is a dream about seeming to live in two different worlds. One is the work a day world and one is this other world where you feel really happy and competent. You not only like this other world but it transforms you in a very powerful way.

A person might have this dream if they wish to escape from either school or some similar activity.

    Or

A person might have this dream if they were gifted at some extra cirricular activity, which made their regular lives seem boring.

    or

this might be a dream of not fitting in, with the normal world, but feeling OK about. The fact that your other world was in water signifies a ease and comfort with emotion.

    Or

the answer may be a combination of the above three answers
